Botox injections

Botox injections are a wonderful way of temporarily reducing or eliminating wrinkles. Botox can be used to treat long horizontal creases in the forehead, "frown lines" between the eyebrows, and the area known as "crows feet". The injection causes relaxation of the underlying muscles which are the cause of many of these wrinkles. Each series of injections is expected to last three to six months; still, each patient is different. Botox may be used to reduce deep wrinkles; however, fixed established wrinkles will rarely disappear entirely. Botox can be used in a preventative fashion to stop mild wrinkles from worsening.

Eyelid Surgery

A blepharoplasty is a procedure to remove fat, excess skin and muscle from upper and lower eyelids. This procedure can correct drooping upper lids and the puffy bags on your lower lids that can make you look older and more tired than you feel. If your upper lids droop in a fashion that interferes with your vision this procedure may be covered by your insurance policy. Blepharoplasty will not remove crow's feet or other wrinkles, eliminate dark circles under your eyes or lift sagging eyebrows, it will however improve your peripheral vision. A blepharoplasty can be done alone or in conjunction with face lifts or brow lifts.

Facelift

As we age, the effects of sun exposure, stress, environmental pollutants and even gravity can be seen in our faces. Wrinkles and deep creases form between the nose and mouth, the jaw line becomes slack and "jowly"; folds and fat deposits appear around the neck. Rhytidectomy, also known as a "face lift" won't stop the hands of time but can turn them back by improving the most visible signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening underlying muscles repositioning tissues and redraping the skin of your face and neck. Fat injections

During the procedure, fat is harvested from areas such as the abdomen, buttocks, thighs or knees. The fat is then processed in a centrifuge to remove extra liquid fat, blood and fluids. This leaves only 100% purified fat for injection. Injection areas may include lips, facial lines, or depressions. Fat can also be harvested and used to fill large depressions on hips, there by creating a smoother line.

The results of this procedure are long lasting, and as it is your own fat, there is little risk for infection or rejection. Some of the cells will not survive the transfer, so subsequent injections may be necessary.

Forehead/Brow lift

A forehead or brow lift is a surgical procedure done to minimize forehead creases and frown lines that create a chronically tired, sad or angry look. A brow lift will also help to significantly reduce or eliminate drooping of eyebrows and excessive hooding of the upper eyelids. Traditionally a brow lift is done through a long incision across the top of the head. In most cases, Dr Smith is able to use the endoscopic method where a special scope is used through several small incisions and an endotine device is placed to secure the lifted tissue in its new position.

Lip Augmentation

Lip augmentation is performed for patients who desire fuller and plumper lips. It can also be employed to even out lips when either the upper or lower lip is thinner than the other. There are several options for lip augmentation including, Restylane, Juvederm or autogenous (the pt's own fat). Otoplasty/Ear Surgery

An otoplasty is the surgical procedure designed to set prominent ears closer to the head. It is most commonly done when ears appear to stick out farther than normal. This procedure is usually done on school age children, but is also done on adults who have suffered with this since childhood. Other congenital ear abnormalities or trauma-induced problems may also be corrected with this procedure.

Rhinoplasty

A rhinoplasty is the surgical procedure performed to reshape the nose. Rhinoplasty can reduce or increase the size of your nose, change the shape of the tip, remove bumps or dips and change the shape of the bridge, correct the size of the nostrils, or change the angle between the nose and upper lip. A rhinoplasty may also be done to correct a birth defect or injury. Breathing problems will be corrected by the septoplasty.
